File your FAFSA early!
- To qualify for ANY federal, state, and institutional aid, parents must file the FAFSA
- File early – on or shortly after Oct. 1 – to have the best chance at aid
- Early filers receive twice as much grant aid from state programs and public universities
- Some state deadlines are earlier, and money can run out!
- Applying early may boost chances of merit scholarships even when you don’t qualify for aid
- But make sure it’s filled out accurately and that you’ve used all strategies to minimize your EFC. (This is where we provide invaluable assistance)
